So why's the site not been updated and the gallery/image insert fixed? We're moving the site elsewhere first. The current host was cheap but not that cheap for a few simple sites. Everything was fine but a year or so in they invented a new rule - a limit on inodes. Inodes? They basically mean there is a limit to how many files you can have. Yet there's unlimited traffic and disk space? Number of files a problem? what is this, the 90's?! So, SiteGround, not best pleased!
Looking forward to completing the move - all the other project sites are moving too.

In the summer we started at Pollyfield to try things out for a possible project that would lead us well into 2012. We tried out a bunch of different things and thanks to the Pollyfield Centre we had somewhere for the young people to practice graffiti art. We even tried our first forest school session and it went really well. We now we plans for the following months. You can join the Pollyfield/ETW discussion group on facebook here.
Whilst we try and sort the gallery thingy to put pix here, check out some other news - Oct 23rd the girls that danced at Fremington Manor Party made a group called Intention and competed in Plymouth. Here's a vid of them in action. We're looking at staying on in Fremington once our YPF2 time there is up. You can join the Seize Fremington discussion group on facebook here.

POLLYFIELD! We haven't forgotten you. We stopped last week to have a trial Forest School session which went really well. We are planning more outdoor activities and bike trips and will be phoning you all when we have a regular indoor session booked. We were having problems finding available timeslots on regular days but should have this sorted in a few days.
Finally - Vote for us! Sadly you have to register to vote so it does take a moment but:
We stayed in The Barn on Lundy from the 12th of July to the 16th - this year we had a second group come out half way through. We had Simon Dell, Crimebeat Officer and Lundy guide, stay with us and it really helped us get more out of our stay.
simondell.co.uk - is where you can find more information on Simon Dell and his books about Lundy.
We had group walks around the island where Simon Dell told us about things of interest. We were impressed with how the young people this year all tried out everything, some having to push themselves hard to make it.
We walked, swam, cooked and ate together. Simon held his own with their banter.
We walked to the north end at midnight, no one stayed behind and we all made it. We even took Sarah's baby Bailey, in his buggy, who was asleep the whole time. It needed carrying from time to time and we're very proud of them for making it. Our night was really bright from the moon so Simon got some photos of the group in front of it.
Bailey does not care for long walks.
The group got the most out of any of these trips we have done. They made it fun and (kinda) stress free.
Crackers.

YPF2 - Big Lottery Fund Update
Written by Jane Elliott
Look below for our current timetable!
Our YPF2 project allows us to reach out to various communities for 3 months at a time and try to help a core group of young people develop their own provision. We're nearly a year into this 5 year project and are currently covering 3 areas at once! Winkleigh, Westward Ho! and Hatherleigh
At Westward Ho! we are turning the previous open access drop in youth club into a project/outcome based group that can work together to achieve. They are currently doing woodwork to build speakers, learning to DJ etc. whilst also dabbling at some art. We hope to give the young people some direction to be able to develop.
In Winkleigh we have been trying to assist with various issues that made their current youth club unable to continue. By being strict and heavy on the respect we want to be able to leave the usual Winkleigh Youth Club workers with a structure they can follow to make it easier on themselves and more beneficial for the young people. We found in the first few weeks that art and our other usual activities are great. We later found that even games of hockey were enjoyed by the majority of the group - all it took was interaction. Another issue the Winkleigh group addressed themselves were to split the age groups so those under 11 have an earlier session. Having more suitable age groups goes a long way to helping.
We have no picture of Hatherleigh currently - just video! The young people there have mainly formed around a drama group. Whilst they have been starting to try out mixing and music making Drama has been the stand-out favourite activity. The video they have is of a spoof ghost show they want to make :)
CURRENT TIMETABLE - END 2010
MON: 6-9 W.ho, 16+ Woodwork/Speaker project
TUES: 7-9 Hatherleigh, Drama/optional
WEDS: 7-9 Winkleigh, Arts/Sports/etc.
THURS: 6-9 W.ho, DJ'ing/Art+more
SUN: 2-6 W.ho, DJ'ing/Art+more
Christmas closing dates will be given to members as necessary, we're also at the mercy of dodgy weather!
